First Things First Campaign
The FTF Campaign focuses on sexual behaviour, contraceptive options, and health education. SPU students and staff also receive HIV counselling and testing, blood pressure testing, tuberculosis screening, and sexually transmitted disease screening (STI). There are also condom demonstrations held regularly at the FTF campaign, and the National Prosecuting Authority has a stall set up to provide information on GBV, including sexual assault. This campaign is an initiative driven by Higher Health in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, Lifeline, Mobile HCT, and Love Life.

Cancer Awareness
This DSA initiative aims to empower SPU staff and students to be more informed about cancer, take more responsibility for their health, detect cancer early, and go for treatment early. During this initiative, the SPU community will be educated on the different types of cancers.

Sexual & Reproductive Health Talk
The talk aims to raise awareness about issues related to HIV reduction, sexual and reproductive health, and dual protection (females – contraceptives and condoms and males – medical male circumcision and consistent condom use).
The talk also aims to:
• Promote safe and healthy sexual decisions
• Reducing the social stigma surrounding condom usage
• Encouraging preventive methods like the use of contraceptives
• Initiating healthy sexual practices
• Increase awareness of the importance of knowing your status by testing regularly
• Increase awareness of the availability of free, quality treatment in the Health & Wellness Center

Rape & Human Trafficking Awareness
To create awareness on campus and to help students become defenders and ambassadors themselves in the effort to stop human trafficking. The goal is also to raise awareness of the role of social media and the 'Blessers culture' in perpetuating the exploitation of vulnerable students and to take proactive preventive measures to eliminate the problem. The initiative will include a storytelling session that features the Peer Educators using dialogue, abstract dramatized images and spoken word to educate the SPU community about the red flags and vulnerabilities around human trafficking.

Creative engagement about Gender Based Violence
The Health & Wellness Centre, in collaboration with Amandla Group, an award-winning creative arts group, will present story telling through dance, to share tips and practical advice to offer support at home, in learning and working spaces regarding Gender-Based Violence. A competition will be held by House Committees to showcase images that speak to Gender-based violence.

Feminine fusion
The female students will be having a discussion on issues that are of concern to them and the society. The following are the topics of discussion:
• what it means to be a woman
• The importance of women in the community
• How to influence more female students to partake in leadership programs
• The rise in cases of GBV in our country and institutions of higher learning
The event will end with a games evening, where our students will get to distress and relax from the robust engagements
they would have had from the talk sessions.
The games will be indigenous games.

Moroka Quiz Masters
To further enhance the discussions and the building of a culture based on unity, women in leadership and academic excellence amongst our residence (Moroka Hall of Residence), fun group discussions that share knowledge on the women who have made significant contribution in the country.
The House Committee will use the Moroka Quiz Masters, as a tool to promote team building thus creating a spirit of togetherness in our residence amongst young ladies. Because the Quiz will be a group effort amongst students.
The Moroka House committee along with floor representatives will co-ordinate a quiz night for students mainly first years, as the culture of engagements will be carried through them.
