STUDENT ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAMME
The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Programme Development (CTLPD) provides from Admission to Graduation Student Academic Support (AGSAS) programme.
The AGSAS programme ensures that students have adequate information to make informed career choices from admissions, during registrations and while on-course to graduations.
On-course support programme monitors and evaluates students’ academic performance and enhances student potential to succeed.
To achieve the foregoing, the Centre runs the following programmes:
Student Academic Advising Programme
Student academic advising programme of Sol Plaatje University creates opportunities for students (advisees) and CTLPD academic advisers to collaboratively engage in a process of helping an advisee to understand his/her learning path and set personal academic goals.
Furthermore, provide students with appropriate continuous academic support towards student success.
Academic and Digital Literacy
Through academic literacy, the CTLPD supports students to be able to discuss and analyse formal academic texts and use subject-specific jargon/discipline specific discourse of knowledge to be able to productively contribute to ongoing conversations within specific academic fields.

Tutorship Support Programme
The tutorship support programme offered by the CTLPD aims to provide on-course student academic support.
In so doing, the CTLPD creates one-to-one or small groups interactions facilitated by a tutor who acts as the more knowledgeable other (MKO) with expertise in a specific content area or discipline.
Tutors assist students individually or in small groups and provide a variety of services from study skills, note-taking strategies and often help students review material from class.
