Team created a social relief fund for students who experience unanticipated financial hardship for which they have no other recourse for funding.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-33d1926\" data-id=\"33d1926\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7269771 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7269771\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>The Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Andrew M Crouch, contributed R20,000 (twenty thousand rand) of his personal funds as seed funding to this fund. Furthermore, the\u00a0University Council made an initial amount available for the fund and further supported by contributions from De Beers.<\/h3><h3>Following these contributions, the fund will be augmented by the following suggested donations:<\/h3><ul><li><h3>Corporate donations<\/h3><\/li><li><h3>Contributions from Alumni (voluntary monthly electronic donation)<\/h3><\/li><li><h3>Contributions from Staff and Students (voluntary monthly deduction from their salary where applicable)<\/h3><\/li><li><h3>Beneficiaries of the fund will be encouraged to contribute to the fund when they are salaried alumni (monthly electronic donation)<\/h3><\/li><\/ul><h3>The fund assists students with personal hygiene products, emergency travel, a food grant, medical emergency not covered by a medical aid, emergency medical necessities not covered by a medical aid and the replacement of essential personal belongings lost as a result of theft or circumstances beyond the control of the student (i.e. fire or natural disaster).\u00a0<\/h3><h3>With your donation, we\u2019ll ensure that students who face critical financial shortages\u00a0participate in and complete their studies without the additional stress of economic emergencies.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0916f76
