The Sol Plaatje University<\/a> Centre for Global Change (CGC) will host its 2026 Sustainability and Resilience Symposium as part of Arbor Week, bringing together researchers, industry experts, practitioners and students to explore innovative responses to some of the world\u2019s most pressing environmental and sustainability challenges. Held under the theme Sustainability and Resilience: Innovation for a Resilient Planet, the symposium will provide a platform for knowledge exchange, research dissemination and dialogue on building more sustainable and resilient futures.<\/p>

The symposium takes place\u00a0on Wednesday, 3 September 2026, from 08:00 to 17:00, at the South Campus Hall, 50 Reservoir Road, Kimberley. The programme features oral and poster presentations that showcase current research, innovative practice, and emerging perspectives on sustainability and resilience.<\/p>

Abstract submissions are invited for four thematic sessions:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

Session 1: The Circular Economy: Integrating Science, Industry, and Society<\/p>

Session 2: Food Security in a Changing Climate<\/p>

Session 3: Environmental Restoration in a Changing Planet<\/p>

Session 4: Bridging the Gap Between Science and Society<\/p>

Each session is anchored by a keynote speaker: Dr Tiaan Oosthuizen (NetZero Nexus<\/span><\/a>), Prof Nomali Ngobese (North-West University<\/span><\/a>), Dr Ali Ali (University of Mpumalanga<\/span><\/a>), and Dr Tolulope Olatoye (Sol Plaatje University<\/span><\/a>).<\/p>

The deadline for abstract submissions is 15 July 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>

To submit, scan the QR code or follow the link on the attached poster to access the abstract template and submission guidelines. Save your abstract as an MS Word (docx) document using the correct file name format, then await feedback.<\/p>
