{"id":12252,"date":"2020-09-11T07:06:32","date_gmt":"2020-09-11T05:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/index.php\/dr-kamela-sekonya-passes-on-copy\/"},"modified":"2020-11-20T14:02:52","modified_gmt":"2020-11-20T12:02:52","slug":"spu-to-host-2nd-imitec-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/index.php\/spu-to-host-2nd-imitec-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"SPU to host 2nd IMITEC conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SPU\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/index.php\/sciences-overview\/\">School of Natural and Applied Sciences<\/a> will host the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/index.php\/ieee-imitec-2020\/\">2020 2nd IMITEC conference<\/a> from 25 to 27 November 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will be held in conjunction with the IEEE (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ieee.org.za\/\">Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers<\/a>) Computer Society, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ieee.org.za\/computer-society\">IEEE South Africa Computer Society Chapter<\/a>, and the IEEE Technical Committee on Data Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the conference is \u201cFrom Kilobyte to Exabyte\u201d and a majority of articles will focus on finding data-driven solutions to data-congested environments towards preventing undesirable consequences of misinformation on human life.<\/p>\n<p>The conference has attracted over ninety paper submissions from around the world.<\/p>\n<p>To cater to a broad audience, the 2020 2nd IMITEC conference will encompass preliminary workshops on cutting-edge topics in data engineering, research paper sessions, and three keynote addresses by internationally recognized senior researchers in the theme areas of the conference.
