{"id":19303,"date":"2021-07-13T04:21:20","date_gmt":"2021-07-13T02:21:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/index.php\/start-of-second-term-copy\/"},"modified":"2021-07-13T05:14:36","modified_gmt":"2021-07-13T03:14:36","slug":"continuation-alert-level4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/index.php\/continuation-alert-level4\/","title":{"rendered":"Continuation of Alert Level 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear SPU Community<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, 11 July 2021, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the country would remain at the Adjusted Alert Level 4, until 26 July 2021, to mitigate the effects of the third wave of COVID-19 infections that has rapidly spread across the country. Please continue to be vigilant about your health and safety and of those around you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Frequently sanitize or wash your hands<\/li>\n<li>Wear a mask<\/li>\n<li>Keep a minimum distance of 1,5m from other people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Academic Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The academic programme will continue online as per the academic calendar which was approved by Senate on 24 May 2021.<\/li>\n<li>Academic staff will be permitted to work from home if they prefer to do so.<\/li>\n<li>Practical or laboratory work is not permitted, and Schools must make provision for students to catch-up on this work once we can do so safely.<\/li>\n<li>Physical study groups are not permitted.<\/li>\n<li>Students who would like to study in a group can only do so via MS Teams.<\/li>\n<li>Use of the University Library for study purposes will be allowed, requests must be made in writing to the SPU COVID-19 Compliance Officer: <a href=\"mailto:covid19@spu.ac.za\">covid19@spu.ac.za.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Residential Students<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Students who are physically here will remain in their allocated campus residences.
