Due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will be held virtually.<\/p><p>The 34th Annual Conference of the SASHT is calling upon academic historians, history educators and students to submit proposals for papers and workshops to be presented at the upcoming virtual conference around the theme: <strong>\u201cTeaching controversial and emotive topics in a diverse society\u201d.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Abstract Submission: <\/strong>An abstract of approximately 300 words (preferably in English) should be submitted as an e-mail attachment to <a href=\"mailto:sasht2021@spu.ac.za\">sasht2021@spu.ac.za<\/a>. Abstracts for papers, workshops or\/and posters must reach us no later than <strong>Friday, 20 August 2021.<\/strong><\/p><p>The SASHT conference organisers will let prospective presenters know by <strong>Friday, 03 September 2021<\/strong> whether their proposals were accepted or not.
