Professor Matjila is the Director of the Centre for PAN-African Languages at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unisa.ac.za\/sites\/corporate\/default\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">UNISA<\/span><\/a>.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/index.php\/sol-plaatje\/\">Solomon Tshekisho Plaatje<\/a><\/span><\/span>, for whom this university is named, was born on 9 October 1876 in the homestead of Podisetlhogo in the district of Boshof, approximately 50 kilometres outside of Kimberley.
