Those who are unvaccinated may apply for an exemption on medical, religious or other legally acceptable grounds.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are now in a position to give effect to this Directive as per the Operational Plan, which can be accessed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/VCs-Directive-on-COVID-19-Vaccinations-Operational-Plan-FINAL-MB.pdf\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">here<\/span><\/a>. Members of the SPU community will be required to either provide proof of their vaccination status or submit an Application for Exemption from the Directive by no later than <strong>Monday, 28 February 2022<\/strong>. The Application for Exemption forms can be downloaded below:\u00a0<\/p><ul style=\"text-align: justify;\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/ANNEXURE-B-APPLICATION-FOR-EXEMPTION-MEDICAL-GROUNDS-FINAL-MB.pdf\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Application for Exemption &#8211; Medical Grounds\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/ANNEXURE-C-APPLICATION-FOR-EXEMPTION-RELIGIOUS-CONSIDERATIONS-FINAL-MB.pdf\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Application for Exemption &#8211; Religious Considerations<\/span><\/a><\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/ANNEXURE-D-OTHER-LEGALLY-ACCEPTABLE-EXEMPTIONS-FINAL-MB.pdf\">Application for Exemption &#8211; Other Legally Acceptable Exemptions<\/a><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I have established a Vaccination Exemption Committee (VEC) that will receive, review and make decisions on the Applications for Exemption.\u00a0 Applicants will be bound by the decision of the VEC. The VEC will provide feedback on an ongoing basis on applications for exemption as appropriate.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If an exemption is not granted the applicant will be expected to comply with the prescripts of the <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3pJnlYM\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Vice-Chancellor\u2019s Directive on COVID-19 Vaccinations<\/span><\/a> within seven days of the date of the decision of the VEC.
