In conjunction with the launch, a campus activation programme was also held.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ENACTUS is an international organisation active in 37 countries with 72 000 students joining annually. It is the world\u2019s largest experiential learning platform dedicated to creating a better world while developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and social innovators. The ENACTUS network of global business, academic and student leaders are unified by the vision of creating a better and more sustainable world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThank you for taking the initiative to attend this launch. I hope you will be motivated and encouraged after the presentation by the ENACTUS team. Grasp the information that will be shared and sign up so you may open yourself up to more opportunities through this international organisation,\u201d urged Prof Pierre Joubert, Head of SPU\u2019s School of Economics and Management Sciences, as he officially opened the ENACTUS event. Prof Joubert reminded students to remember where they come from as well as their responsibility to make a positive change in their communities while building a better life for themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWhen you complete your studies, you must not think that degree is yours alone \u2013 you must use it as a tool to uplift not just yourself, but others too,\u201d Vice-Chancellor and Principal of SPU, Prof Andrew M Crouch advised students at the launch. With the Northern Cape contributing 2% to the national GDP, Prof Crouch believes entrepreneurship is vital for the growth of our province.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ENACTUS has teams all over the country at different universities where they encourage entrepreneurship among students. Programme Coordinator for ENACTUS South Africa, Ms Masabata Sebusi already coordinates and manages teams from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufs.ac.za\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">University of the Free State<\/span><\/a> (UFS), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cut.ac.za\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Central University of Technology<\/span> <\/a>(CUT) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uj.ac.za\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">University of Johannesburg<\/span><\/a> (UJ). She will now also include SPU in her team. Her advice to students on starting a business? \u201cThe initial phase is important and you cannot assume when it comes to solving societal issues. Tackle a solution and make an impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Students were encouraged to work towards a life of entrepreneurship by the Programme Director of ENACTUS South Africa, Mr Bheki Mdziwa. \u201cTen out of 100 South African graduates get a job, but although they\u2019ve landed a job, most times it\u2019s in a field in which they did not study towards.
