{"id":3777,"date":"2019-01-08T15:09:20","date_gmt":"2019-01-08T13:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/spu\/?p=3777"},"modified":"2019-11-27T10:08:01","modified_gmt":"2019-11-27T08:08:01","slug":"spu-prepares-for-2020-21-buildings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\/index.php\/spu-prepares-for-2020-21-buildings\/","title":{"rendered":"SPU prepares for 2020-21 buildings"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sol Plaatje University continues to expand its infrastructure so that it can meet its goal to accommodate over 7,000 students in the medium term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NAS academic building on Central Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Planned on Central Campus for occupation at the beginning of\n2020 is the NAS Academic Office Building which includes a 165 seater raked\nauditorium and offices for the Head of School and Heads of Departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is expected that by mid-2020, the NAS Applied Sciences\nBuilding will be available. This building contains on the ground and first\nfloor, two 320 seater raked auditoriums, two 180 seater raked auditoriums and\nfour 90 seater classrooms which will increase the generic classroom options\nsubstantially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Student Dining Rooms to be built<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the contractor has completed this building, he will proceed to a Student Dining Room which will be open from 07:00 until 21:30 in order to provide meals for those in Student Housing in South Campus and adjacent properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more about SPU&#8217;s infrastructure, go to http:\/\/localhost\/spu\/index.php\/infrastructure\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Arts Block to be ready in the middle of 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also expected to be ready in the middle of 2020 is the Arts\nBlock, designed for both Humanities and Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This building includes facilities for the Education\nFoundation Phase and Humanities Heritage South Campus will see the building of\nan iconic concrete building, housing all the bulk storage water requirements,\npotable water, fire water, grey-water and associated filtration and pumping\nsystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also included are the standby-generator, LV Metering and the\nchillers for TABS (Thermal Activated Building System).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sol Plaatje University continues to expand its infrastructure so that it can meet its goal to accommodate over 7,000 students in the medium term.
