The School of Economic and Management Sciences (SoEMS) has deliberately chosen to pursue three major goals in 2019, which will have major impact on its future position and performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Firstly, the School will build capacity in curriculum design, programme development and delivery. New programmes are gradually being introduced in the School, the most recent being the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Management which will be offered in the second quarter of the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result, there will be emphasis on careful design of curriculum and development of relevant academic programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Secondly, in furtherance of the School\u2019s commitment to ensuring quality teaching and learning competencies, concerted efforts will be geared towards developing human capital by strengthening teaching and scholarly capacity of academics within the School. As the SoEMS moves towards more postgraduate teaching, it has become pertinent to enhance staff development and ensure that adequate teaching, research and supervision capacity exists within the School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lastly, the School intends to establish research thrusts based on the research interests of academics as well as identified niches in relevant fields, that give impetus to increased research collaborations and peer-reviewed journal publications. It is anticipated that embarking on these goals will further position the SoEMS as a scholarly engaged school.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
