This campaign, led by the Afrikaans Language Council (ATR) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/taalmuseum.co.za\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Afrikaans Language Museum and Monument (ATM)<\/span><\/a>, is supported by a wide and representative group of Afrikaans organisations.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Building on this foundation, the Northern Cape Heritage Pioneers and the Centre for Creative Writing and African Languages at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spu.ac.za\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sol Plaatje University<\/span><\/a> in collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/atkv.org.za\/ons-storie\/takke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ATKV-tak Taal Trek<\/span><\/a> brings the festivities to the Northern Cape under the theme, \u201cEeufees van Afrikaans: Van Herkoms tot Toekoms\u201d.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>The event is scheduled to take place as follows: <\/u><\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Date:<\/strong> 6 June 2025<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Venue: <\/strong>Multipurpose Hall on South Campus, Sol Plaatje University<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Time:<\/strong> 09:00 -14:00<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Entrance is free, however attendees are required to RSVP by sending an email to\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"mailto:events.nchp@gmail.com\">events.nchp@gmail.com<\/a><\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The celebration will include a presentation on the history of Afrikaans, a discussion about Afrikaans in the Northern Cape, roundtable discussions about the importance of the Centre for Creative Writing and African Languages.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 8 May 2025, Afrikaans marked its 100th anniversary as an official language.
