About CPD
SPU established the CPD to strengthen and support local capacitation, through targeted professional and personal development. CDP complements the university’s academic programmes by focusing on lifelong learning, continuing education, and workplace development. This strategic role is closely aligned with SPU’s broader vision of community engagement, democratic practice, and social justice, fostering a life-long commitment to learning in the Northern Cape. CPD works alongside government, business and community partners to co-design and deliver short courses that reflect regional and local priorities. In this way, we support professional growth at all levels, contributing to careers, organisations, and society in line with the university’s values of access, excellence, and inclusion.
