The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Programme Development (CTLPD) is an academic support division within the university which is charged with the responsibility of enhancing teaching and learning outcomes through the implementation and coordination of various strategies, processes and interventions.

The Centre works closely with faculties, departments, students and other support units to ensure effectiveness of teaching and learning and the enhancement of the curricular. Its work is informed by the institution’s strategic plan and is therefore key to the fulfilment of the university’s vision and mission. The CTLPD acts as an entity that creates an enabling environment that promotes equity of access and student success. It also seeks to enhance capacity development of academics to enhance pedagogical, curriculum and assessment practices and create equitable learning experiences among students from diverse socio-economic and academic backgrounds. Its approach is predicated on the belief that every student has the potential to succeed, provided appropriate and relevant development and support programmes and processes are put in place.
