Our History
The SPU Library was established in 2014 to serve the SPU students with their information and study needs. The first library was housed in the municipality library with 2 staff members.
Today the library is a functional and physical centerpiece of university life. The Sol Plaatje University Library Building has won numerous local and international awards. The Library Staff aim to offer cutting-edge resources and inspiring learning and collaborative spaces to meet the needs of the 21st Century university community.
With friendly and professional staff skilled in digital literacy, research support and innovation, our library is positioned to support the Sol Plaatje University Community and the Northern Cape in pursuit of academic excellence
