E-learning Programme
The goal of the E-Learning office is to partner with academics and students at Sol Plaatje University, foster a community of practice, and collaborate in the design, development, and promotion of excellence in the delivery of online and blended learning and teaching opportunities. This portfolio manages the design and development of digital learning content, creates and delivers short online courses for various training needs of staff, and proactively supports academic staff in identifying e-tools and new approaches to e-learning. Staff in the E-Learning office are available to provide support for staff and students with various teaching tools and online platforms.
The e-learning support provided to staff and students includes the effective use and implementation of the following e-tools and platforms:
- Moodle as a learning management system
- MS Teams as a communications and collaborative platform
- Turnitin as the plagiarism detection service
- Panopto as an online screen recorder
- IntelliBoardNext for reporting and analytics on Moodle usage
- Inspera as a proctored and non-proctored online assessment tool
All the above e-tools and platforms are integrated into Moodle. To access Moodle, please click on the following link: https://learn.spu.ac.za/
