The SPU Womens Month Public Lecture honours the historicism of August 9, 1956 when 20 000 women marched to the Union Buildings against the Urban Areas Act and as part of the vision and mission of the University, this lecture aims to provide communities with a platform to critically engage on issues facing our country and society.
This year National Women’s Day and Women’s Month is celebrated under the theme: “Women’s Socio-Economic Rights and Empowerment: Building Back Better for Women’s Improved Resilience.”
The keynote address will be delivered by Judge Yvonne Mokgoro and we look forward to an insightful lecture. We look forward to your attendance and active engagement.
