The SPU Youth Month Public Lecture honours the contribution of the youth in the struggle for the liberation of South Africa, and this year commemorates 46 years since the 1976 student uprisings.
As part of the vision and mission of the University, the lecture aims to provide the SPU community with a platform to critically engage on the issues facing our country and society.
The event will centre around a keynote address coupled with interactions between an academic and student who will speak to the assigned theme – this year, focusing on the promotion of sustainable livelihoods and resilience among young people in order to create a better tomorrow.
Join us for a thought-provoking programme that tackles critical issues faced by the youth in our province and country. We welcome your active participation and look forward to your attendance as we engage on these fundamental social justice issues.
