A Growing Offering in Afrikaans

From the second semester of 2026, selected modules in the Faculties of Education and Humanities will be offered through Afrikaans-medium instruction, with the offering set to grow in the years ahead.

True multilingualism is one of Sol Plaatje University’s defining commitments. This offering brings it into the lecture halls, in the languages of the region we serve.

What Is On Offer?

Faculty of Education
Selected Foundation Phase modules in Afrikaans from second semester 2026.

Faculty of Humanities
Afrikaans-medium support in Psychology through a bilingual approach, extending into History.

If You Are A Currently Registered Student

If you are enrolled in one of the affected modules and would like to learn in Afrikaans, or would prefer to continue in English, you are welcome to discuss your options with your faculty.
