The School of Natural and Applied Sciences is excited to announce the establishment of a Risk and Vulnerability Science Centre (RVSC) at Sol Plaatje University (SPU) – the first research centre to be established at SPU.

The Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) has implemented the RVSC programme as part of the global change research plan for South Africa.

The programme is funded by the DSI through the National Research Foundation and focuses on the need to generate and disseminate knowledge on risk and vulnerability on global change challenges faced by local policymakers/governance structures and communities in South Africa.

You’re cordially invited to join us as we officially launch the SPU RVSC on Friday, 15 October 2021. The event will take place as follows:
