The Risk and Vulnerability Science Centre (RVSC) at Sol Plaatje University (SPU) has three exciting and dynamic post-doctoral positions available.

The RVSC is a newly established research entity at SPU which focuses on climate and global change risks and vulnerabilities across arid landscapes to find innovative solutions for local impacts.

The post-doctoral fellowship opportunities are available in the fields of:

1. Machine learning for air pollution prediction (re-advertised) (Reference No. PD/02-2022)

2. Machine learning modelling and optimisation for the improvement of integrated biofuel production (Reference No. PD/03-2022)

3. Multiplatform remote sensing integration for monitoring and modelling of arid and semi-arid rangelands degradation (Reference No. PD/04-2022)

Minimum requirements:

– Completion of a Ph.D. in the last five years in a field relevant to the post-doctoral research topic
– Proven research experience in an appropriate area of specialisation relevant to the area of postdoctoral research
– Academic excellence
– Good publication record
– Valid driver’s license
