In celebration of the International Day of University Sports – and to herald our hosting of the University Sports South Africa (USSA) men’s and women’s Rugby Sevens Championships – you’re invited to participate in the Sol Plaatje University (SPU) Campus Night races:

  • 5km starts at 18H00 on 20 September 2022 at 26 Scanlan Street, SPU Central Campus Square
  • 3km starts at 18H15 – same date and venue

The first 100 runners to finish the races will receive medals, with prizes up for grabs for the top three male and female students who finish in the top three in both races.

 How to enter

  1. Registration is between 13 and 19 September, 15H00-17H00 daily, at SPU Central Campus, 26 Scanlan Street
  2. All SPU students run for FREE on presenting a valid student card at the registration desk
  3. Staff and the general public pay R50 for a temporary race number

The race will be held according to Athletics Griqualand West, Athletics South Africa and World Athletics laws.

Remember to bring your reflective race wear and head lamps on the day. See you there!
