SPU, together with the University of South Africa, the Northern Cape Rural TVET College, DHET, the Department of Correctional Services, the Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority and the Northern Cape Office of the Premier, amongst others, are in Upington for the PSET (Post-School Education and Training) Forum Seminar.
The seminar serves as a platform for sharing information and ideas and collaborating and networking on issues relating to PSET.
In addition, the seminar aims to establish ways in which more people in the Northern Cape Province can become qualified in jobs that require scarce critical skills needed in the province for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and climate change.
Various organisations will meet to discuss how to align the industry requirements with what academia is producing.
Moreover, industries want to determine how employable students are in relation to the 4IR job opportunities that will contribute to enhancing the economy in the Northern Cape.
The PSET Forum Seminar takes place at the NCR TVET College in Upington today and tomorrow.
