SPU Scoops Diamond Arrow at PMR.africa NC Business Excellence Awards

Sol Plaatje University was awarded a 2022 Diamond Arrow at the PMR.africa Northern Cape Provincial Survey Business Excellence Awards on 26 October 2022.

The PMR.africa Awards measure companies, institutions, government entities and individuals on their contribution to the economic growth and development of the province, levels of management expertise, implementation of corporate governance, and levels of innovation.

SPU was rated 4.10 out of 5.00 in the category for Institutions for Higher Education/Tertiary Institutions through a survey completed by 90 CEOs, MDs, owners of companies, company directors, managers, and senior government officials based in the Northern Cape. In 2017 SPU received a Golden Arrow award, and since 2018 the university has been awarded a Diamond Arrow Award.

The purpose of the PMR.africa Awards is to enhance competitiveness, to create unique marketing and sales tools, to enhance excellence in industry, and to set a benchmark in industry.

SPU’s recognition by CEOs and other leaders in the Northern Cape as a key contributor to economic growth in the province is a sign that the university is making strides in meeting its strategic goals as set out in its Strategic Plan 2020 – 2024. This recognition shows the high regard in which local decision-makers hold SPU, and provides proof that SPU is succeeding in meeting strategic goals such as academic programme development and constantly improving teaching and learning; becoming a leading digitally-empowered university; and strengthening the foundations for long-term sustainability.
