Dear SPU Students
Welcome back to campus if you have been away during the recent recess period.
I wish you all well as you embark upon the 2nd term of the 2021 academic year and want to remind you that your success at university is your responsibility. We provide the support and environment for you to achieve your objectives but it is ultimately up to you to apply yourself to your studies. We want to see each of you succeed in your chosen field of study and for you to go on to become successful graduates and ambassadors of Sol Plaatje University.
It is imperative that we all pull together again this year to complete the academic year by December. To this end, we have adjusted the academic calendar (which can be downloaded here) in order to achieve this objective while also ensuring that we safeguard the health and safety to our entire community during this time of increased COVID-19 infections on campus and across the Northern Cape Province.
It has also necessitated the implementation of certain restrictions in line with the national COVID-19 health and safety protocols and if we adhere to these measures now, we can return to our normal activities sooner rather than later.
We are counting on you to cooperate with the staff who have to monitor our observance of the health and safety rules and protocols.
For any support and assistance students are welcome to contact the Student Counsellor ([email protected]) or email the Student Affairs Department ([email protected]) at any time.
