The Student Entrepreneurship Week (SEW) 2018 is a key project in the Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE) programme, a partnership between the Department of Higher Education and Training, and Universities South Africa (USAf).

This project aims to raise student awareness of entrepreneurship as a career and a means to participate in the mainstream economy, while creating much-needed jobs.

SEW 2018, as a month-long event throughout August, was hosted at various universities and TVET colleges throughout the country.

As part of SPU’s entrepreneurship initiatives, Senior Lecturer in the Chair for Entrepreneurship at the University of Pretoria, Prof Alex Antonites, presented a workshop.

Prof Antonites is also a senior lecturer at the Gordon Institute of Business.  He started and heads the UP Business Incubator that is currently developing a number of new innovative start-ups.
