Women’s month healing dialogue

To commemorate Women’s Month, Sol Plaatje University has partnered with the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and mental health practitioners to offer a multi modal healing approach to women.

The dialogue incorporates the knowledge and experiences of psychologists, community arts counsellors, peace builders and faith based practitioners who will engage with women to find healing strategies for the daily stresses experienced by women.

Proposed self-care online activities are aimed at helping participants to process mental health challenges worsened by the COVID -19 pandemic and associated lockdown.

The purpose of the art activities is to allow participants to have a better understanding of how art can be used as a tool to heal. The activities and discussions will also help the participants to improve their physical and psychological well-being by gaining mental and emotional clarity and developing a deeper understanding of themselves.

NB: Participants are requested to have on hand an A4 paper and colour pens for Art Therapy activities.
