SPU Extraordinary Professor for Archaeology and Heritage Studies Prof David Morris was awarded Honorary Membership of the Association of Southern African Professional Archaeologists at its biennial conference at Pretoria University in July 2017.
This was made in recognition of efforts made in preserving the Canteen Kopje heritage site near Barkly West after it was threatened by mining.
