Ms Lusinda Bowers appointed USSA Football PWC Convenor for Free State/Northern Cape

Sol Plaatje University (SPU) proudly congratulates Ms Lusinda Bowers, Sports Officer within the Division of Student Affairs, on her appointment as the Provincial Working Committee Convenor for the Free State/Northern Cape Region by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of University Sport South Africa Football. Her term will commence on 1 June 2025, aligning with the current NEC cycle.

This milestone appointment, confirmed during the NEC’s recent strategic workshop at the University of Pretoria, recognises Ms Bowers’ exemplary leadership, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to student athletic development. The workshop, which included national stakeholders such as the South African Football Association, focused on redefining the sustainability of regional football structures – and Ms Bowers’ selection signals a significant shift in positioning regional leadership at the forefront of national transformation in university sport.

Her leadership will contribute meaningfully to building sustainable football ecosystems across the Free State and Northern Cape, prioritising inclusive access and the professionalisation of university-level sport.
