SPU hosts Data Science Africa Summer School and Workshop

Sol Plaatje University in collaboration with Data Science Africa (DSA) will hold a virtual Summer School and Workshop from 4 to 8 October 2021.

The theme for this year’s events is “Women and Data in Africa”. DSA is aiming to improve the gender balance in Data Science in Africa, by empowering women and by encouraging men to consider their role as male allies. Therefore, participation of women from across the continent is strongly encouraged.

The Summer School will be on machine learning and include data science lectures and tutorials which are suitable for students, researchers and professionals working with large data or unique datasets and the Workshop is organized around paper presentations and interactive panel discussions. All sessions will be online.

Registration for both the summer school and workshop is open. We welcome you to participate and share this with your networks, especially networks with women.

Check on the event website for updates on the Summer School and Workshop schedules and also on information about the amazing speakers that will be a part of these events.
