SPU’s School of EMS Excels at EDHE Lekgotla

We’re delighted to share that representatives from our School of Economic and Management Sciences (EMS) recently participated in the Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE) Lekgotla hosted by the University of the Western Cape.

Prof Pierre Joubert, Head of the School of EMS and Deputy Chair of the Economic Activation Office (EAO) Community of Practice, presented on the EAO’s successful establishment at SPU. He was commended for the swift and ground-breaking steps taken to foster entrepreneurship both within SPU and the broader community. Numerous institutions have since reached out for his advice on establishing similar offices on their campuses.

Ms Gail Motlhaudi, lecturer in the School of EMS and member of both the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Research (CEDAR) and EDHE Student Entrepreneurship Community of Practice, facilitated a Think Tank on the sustainability of social entrepreneurship initiatives. The session led to actionable insights and strategies to further social impact within entrepreneurship.

This successful participation showcases the innovative work happening at SPU and extends our influence and leadership in entrepreneurship education.
