Sol Plaatje University is pleased to announce that, following the first quarterly meeting of the University Council held on 26 March 2025, Prof Randall Carolissen has been elected as Chairperson and Mr Cox Mokgoro as Deputy Chairperson of the University Council, effective 14 April 2025.
The University wishes to express its deep gratitude to the outgoing Chairperson, Judge Mmathebe Phatshoane, and Deputy Chairperson, Mr Connie Molusi, who have served the institution with unwavering dedication. Their terms on Council will conclude on 13 April 2025, marking the end of an era of steadfast leadership and the laying of a strong foundation for future success.
These appointments mark a significant step in the University’s commitment to robust governance and strategic leadership. Prof Carolissen brings a wealth of executive, academic, and administrative experience to the role, while Mr Mokgoro’s appointment as Deputy Chairperson will further strengthen the Council’s capacity to guide the University towards achieving its strategic objectives.
