Students selected for leadership programme

Four students – Ntesang Makutu, Kopano Sebe, Vannette Naude and Dikatso Gaebepe – were selected from Sol Plaatje University to be selected for the JustLead course, presented by the University of Stellenbosch.


JustLead! aims to develop the leadership competency and capacity of young leaders across South Africa.


The course is founded on three core pillars: personal leadership development, contextual awareness and social responsiveness.


It provides participants with rich insights into a variety of social justice challenges, with an emphasis on designing community engagement which is thoughtful and responsive.


The courses focus on:

• Authentic leadership

• Looking at our future through the lens of our past

• Co-creating a just society

• Living Inclusivity

• Engaging with media

• Engaging with land

• Active citizenship in a constitutional democracy

• Engaging with education.


Ntsesang thanked the University, saying that she planned to bring glory to the name of Sol Plaatje University when we interact with other students and academics from different universities”.
