In a fitting finale to the Sol Plaatje University (SPU) Women’s Month Wellness Series, the HR Employee Wellness office partnered with First National Bank (FNB) to host a Women’s Month brunch in the courtyard of Luka Jantjie House.
“We celebrate the last day of Women’s Month, but we should be celebrating women every day,” said Vice-Chancellor and Principal of SPU Prof Andrew Crouch.
“In commemoration of the 1956 Women’s March and through their courage and bravery, we can contribute towards gender equality. There’s a lot we still need to do to fight the scourge of poverty and inequality as well gender-based violence. I express my gratitude for your contribution towards the betterment of this institution. Continue to utilise and take up spaces for self-improvement to beat the scourge of inequality and poverty.”
The National Head of Staffing Solutions at FNB, Mr Kabelo Motlhala, encouraged everyone in attendance at the brunch to set short-, medium-, and long-term goals. Raised by two women himself, he added that women should invest in themselves and live by principles that benefit them and generations to come.
As instructed by the invitation, the ladies came dressed to impress! The brunch was a welcome opportunity for everyone to let their hair down, take fun pictures in the photo booth and enjoy the excellent company.
