On 31 July 2024, SPU’s Employee Wellness Office, in partnership with the Sol Plaatje Local Municipality and Interact at the Northern Cape High School Rotary Club, handed over essential items including adult nappies, blankets, pillows, pillowcases, and fitted sheets to the Belgrave Lodge (Old Age Home).
SPU’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr David Kanguwe, along with staff and learners from the school, spent the afternoon with the senior citizens, who warmly received the items and enjoyed a sweet treat. This handover event highlighted our commitment to community engagement and social responsiveness.
This initiative aligns with SPU’s vision of enhancing democratic practice and social justice in society. By engaging with our community, we contribute to equitable development and the betterment of societal conditions. It also reflects our mission to engage with local communities to address key challenges.
