SPU’s Division of Student Affairs hosts the 2025 NASDEV Best Practice Summit

Sol Plaatje University (SPU), through its Division of Student Affairs (DSA), will be hosting the National Association for Student Development Professionals (NASDEV) Best Practice Summit (BPS) from 08 to 11 May 2025. This significant event marks a historic milestone in the professionalization and advancement of student development practice in the Post-School Education and Training (PSET) sector.

As an affiliate of NASDEV, SPU recognizes the value of a unified national agenda to strengthen capacity building, promote integrated student support systems, and champion the holistic development of students. The BPS presents a strategic opportunity for higher education institutions to engage in reflective practice, knowledge exchange, and collective problem-solving in response to the evolving challenges within the student development landscape.

The summit is expected to bring together delegates from all 26 public universities in South Africa, including professionals and thought leaders from Student Affairs and Student Support Services. The event is designed to deepen the understanding of pressing student issues, foster dialogue around context-specific interventions, and cultivate innovative and transformative approaches to student development. It is an opportunity for delegates to critically examine their roles, share best practices, and support the nurturing of grounded, sensitive, and socially conscious graduates.

Hosting the BPS aligns with SPU’s commitment to advancing student success through engagement.
