School of Economic and Management Sciences’ (EMS) lecturer, Ms Gail Motlhaudi, received an award for her contribution to the development of entrepreneurs in South Africa at the 3rd Annual Entrepreneurship Awards hosted by the Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE).
The award was in recognition of her contribution to the national #SEW2021 launch and in particular for her role in coordinating the National Student Entrepreneurship Week event held at Sol Plaatje University (SPU) between 14 and 16 September 2021.
Ms Motlhaudi is a Lecturer in Economic and Management Sciences, the Student Entrepreneurship Centre Coordinator at SPU and an EDHE Member of the Community of Practice for Student Entrepreneurship. She is an ardent supporter of steering and accelerating student entrepreneurship.
An elated Motlhaudi said: “This award places SPU on the national map within the entrepreneurship space. All the hard work that the University has put into creating an entrepreneurial culture at SPU is coming to fruition.”
“This serves as a reminder, especially to students, that entrepreneurship is a viable career path to pursue and venture into,” explained Motlhaudi.
The third annual Entrepreneurship Awards was guided by the theme, #AgainstAllOdds.
The EDHE awards event celebrated the 28 national finalists from the public universities who participated in the Entrepreneurship Intervarsity Competition.
This event took place in a hybrid form and was streamed on the EDHE Facebook Page.
