We are delighted to inform you that Sol Plaatje University (SPU) will be hosting the Universities South Africa (USAf) Employee Relations Forum on 4 – 5 June 2026 at the South Campus.
The USAf Employee Relations Forum is a highly regarded community of practice comprising Employee Relations Directors and Employee Relations Managers from all 26 public universities in South Africa. The Forum serves as a strategic platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, benchmarking, and professional engagement on employee relations matters affecting the higher education sector.
The ER Forum reports to the USAf HR Directors Forum and is regarded as a critical structure within the higher education sector. Employee Relations is a strategic function within universities, contributing significantly to institutional stability, good governance, regulatory compliance, and the effective management of workplace relationships.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the leadership of SPU, Finance, ICT, Property, Facilities, Communication and Marketing, and Security for their invaluable support and coordination in ensuring the successful engagement. We are honoured to host this important gathering and to welcome colleagues from all 26 public universities to SPU.
