We are excited to announce the upcoming Research Week 2024, scheduled to take place from 2 to 6 September 2024. This event, themed “Advancing New Frontiers and Showcasing Cutting-Edge Research at Sol Plaatje University (SPU),” is a vital platform for celebrating and promoting the innovative research that drives our institution.
Research Week 2024 reflects our dedication to critical engagement in learning, research, and development, showcasing workshops, conferences, and symposiums that emphasise our strategic focus as a research-active university.
The week features workshops on community engagement, a postgraduate conference on advancing scholarship, and a postdoctoral workshop. Additionally, we will host a Black-Tie Event to launch the Centre for Global Change, formerly the Risk and Vulnerability Science Centre.
A highlight of the week will be the Research Symposium featuring presentations from our four Faculty Deans, showcasing their research contributions across various disciplines, and reflecting our mission to produce new knowledge that addresses the key challenges of our region and society at large.
We encourage all SPU community members to participate in Research Week 2024, particularly in activities that align with your roles and interests. This is a valuable opportunity to celebrate our achievements and engage with pioneering ideas.
